TCF Stud Services |
| |
|
The Crawford Farm provides controlled
breeding stud services for commercial and pedigreed does at its
Thornton Road facility in Chatsworth from April to December of each
year.
This service allows customers to
expose their select does to the TCF stable of sire side genetics in
a safe, natural, and highest quality pasture bred manner. |

|
|
|
Just a few
advantages of TCF Stud Services are as follows:
-
Economical alternative allowing your does to be bred to proven
sire genetics without the high up front cost of a buck purchase
and the long-term commitment to a specific genetic line.
-
Provides a genetic out-cross to your current sire
side genetics.
-
Eliminates your buck handling and fencing headaches that often
occur at breeding time. We manage the buck and your does, they
do the “work”.
-
Takes
the guesswork out of performance questions. TCF bucks are proven
and have a data history having sired hundreds [and sometimes
thousands] of offspring that can thrive in a commercial
environment.
-
Other
than the breeding sire, your does will not be exposed to other
goats belonging to us or to those of other customers; they will
reside and be housed in their own decontaminated paddocks during
their TCF visit.
-
Pasture breeding is safe and greatly more reliable than
Artificial Insemination [AI] in goats.
|
|
Following is the procedure for TCF
Stud services:
-
Customer doe[s] delivered to TCF by appointment and receive
on-site health inspection.
-
Doe[s]
will reside in a breeding paddock adjacent to the buck you have
scheduled until she exhibits “heat”.
Upon nearing a
standing heat, the buck will join the doe in her paddock for a
period of three days. The approximate breeding dates will be noted
for your records and reflected on a Sire Verification Certificate
provided to you at pickup. |
